Gory accident at Akyem Tafo kills 3

Three persons were killed in a ghastly accident that occurred at Akyem Tafo in the Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern region of Ghana in th early hours of today.

According to eye witness, a Toyota van with registration number ER 718-15 heading to Odumase-Krobo  from Kumasi collided head-on with a Hyundai Elantra with Registration Number GR 3522-19 from Akyem Tafo.

A male and a female on board the Hyundai Elantra sustained life-threatening injuries and were pronounced dead on arrival at the New Tafo Government Hospital.

A number of passengers onboard the Toyota vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to New Tafo Government Hospital and the St. Joseph Government Hospital in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.

Sadly, one more passenger in the Toyota Van has been confirmed dead this morning, bringing the number of the deceased to three. 

The Kukurantumi police in Abuakwa North have commenced investigations to establish cause of accident.
